William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare lived for 52 years from the facts in his own biography. In just 23 years (1590-1613) William had wrote 38 plays including lots of famous sonnets and 5 poems. He is the most famous and widely read author in English history and is nearly as popular as the bible, which is why he has been investigated in by many historians and has inspired many of today’s authors.

Facts:

    He was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564

    Shakespeare was baptised in holy trinity church in Stratford.

    He was married to Anna Hathaway in 1582.

    Shakespeare bought new place (his home) in 1597 which was near the area where the globe theatre.

    Shakespeare did many of his plays in the globe theatre during James the 1^st’s reign and did many plays about ghosts because James was very superstitious and the many of the plays where acted out for him.

Globe theatre:

The globe theatre was where William Shakespeare prepared and acted out his plays and was a very popular attraction because of his plays and is situated in London. In 1613 the theatre was burned by a fire and was rebuilt in 1614 in the same place, but had a tiled roof instead of a flammable roof and was closed down in 1642.the globe theatre is now called the Shakespearean globe and is still used to hold some of nowadays plays and performances.
